The complete text of LUKE. Small enough to fit in your back pocket, but large enough that text can be easily read.
Get one for each quizzer. Hint: At these prices, you can afford to buy a few extra because your quizzers are bound to misplace them!
We have used both the BQA and AcmeQuiz scripture portions over the years. The advantage to BQA is their portions are much more pocketable. The advantage to AcmeQuiz is bolded keywords and a higher-quality product. We have now standardized to the AcmeQuiz product for our quizzers, which allows us to throw in "keyword quizzes" from time to time, to help solidify their knowledge of the material.
This is the ideal format for our quizzers. Most of them are just confused by all the color coding--they just want to know the text. I know our intense quizzers do wear out the covers, so we have them personalize their books with colored duck tape. For those who truly wear it out, I just order 2 for them and give them a new one if they ask. If they are into the Word enough to wear it out, they deserve another!
Love this product! At the first practice, my coach handed me one. I was top Novice quizzer at my first meet with pretty much nothing but this.
I love the plain text books. It gives the students an oppertunity to personalize the book to fit their needs. The price is great as well.
Our district quizmasters find that knowing the presence of unique words speeds up making rulings on answers by reducing time needed to check concordances. It reduces my load greatly not to have to mark up 15 portions before the first quiz by hand. Also, the price is very reasonable - and yes, I do notice quite a few quizzers manage to lose the covers.
Acme me rocks! small scripture portions with bold word are awesome! The bigger portions are way to busy with too many colors...Wish you did concordance with just bold word and no color. keep up the good work. Also the verse kits are great!
I have been coaching Bible Quizzing for 20 years and have found that my quizzers prefer to have the key words bolded and underlined. It is one less thing they have to do. This has not hindered our quoters in the least. I am glad for the addition of the key word amplification.
I wish the booklets would stay together better. We are always losing the covers and they fall apart before 1/2 way through the year. That's my only complaint.
I am not a fan of the bolded "unique words" or the underlining. For a quoter this just gets in the way. I think that AcmeQuiz should offer the original plain-text book as it did in the past. Poor product! If I could, I would give it a zero out of 5 rating.
[ACME's REPLY] Jill, thank you for your feedback. It is our desire to be responsive to the needs of those we serve. We also desire to be good stewards of the resources God has entrusted us. Many people benefit from the highlighting of unique words, and in truth, it costs too much to make every person happy. We have three unique Scripture options tailored to the unique needs of Bible quizzers and have decided to leave printing the "plain" Scriptures to others.
